WINERY
We make a variety of wines (red, white and fun) from grapes grown here at SouthEnd Farm as well a small vineyard called Sleeping Cougar Acres from the Comox Valley. We keep it small and local in accordance with our principles. We use a minimal amount of sulphites and our vineyard is grown organically with no pesticides or herbicides.
Red
2022 Island Red
12.7% Light Red, grown here on the farm These were crushed and destemmed into our open fermenting bins, inoculated with yeast and they fermented for about 14 days. We punched down twice, sometimes 3 times a day and then pressed, into steel tanks to finish the fermentation. Once fermentation is almost done we transfer into our American oak barrels to age for 12 months. 750 ml bottle

White
2023 Virga
10.8% Estate grown, this dry wine is half Siegerrebe and half Petit Milo. A perfect summer patio wine, it’s floral and smooth to the taste. 750 ml bottle

Rosé
2023 Bara
11.0% It’s ROSÉ! We added whole clusters of Leon Millot and Marechal Foch (red vinifera hybrids) to the must of Petit Milo a white vinifera hybrid grape. We let them hang out for a day and then pressed the whole thing. 750 ml bottle

- Co-ferment of Petit milo partially fermented juice on skins of Leon millot, then pressed off to finish fermenting in steel tanks

2023 Ancestrale
11% Sparkling wine that has NO preservatives, fermented in bottle and sediment on the bottom. Cloudy and fruity and delicious.

2022 Piquette
5.8% This is a low alcohol wine made from the pressings of our red and water. A little fizzy, kind of like a sour beer/cider/wine mash up, it’s perfect for sunny days. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, this is naturally made so there is sediment in the bottle and no sulphites.

Starboard
22.1% Our version of a port, we forgot about the barrel for a few years and were pleasantly surprised.

ClearCut Distilling Company takes the wine we’ve made at the Winery and distills it into some fun spirits.
Botanically Incorrect Gin
38.5% This is a true farm grown spirit. We handcraft our spirits in small batches from the wine grown and made at our Winery and the botanicals are foraged and grown on the Farm. As botanicals change with the seasons so goes the gin. This is not your traditional gin, it’s Botanically Incorrect!

Brandy 319
40% This brandy is distilled once to preserve the flavours of the base wine that was grown and fermented on the Farm and then bulk aged in glass demi-johns with medium toast American Oak.

40% Double distilled so it still has that hint of Grape-a, a unique vodka for martinis and other cocktails.
